Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sylus Abel ("we", "us") handles information in the Places in East Africa app (the "App"). By using the App you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email.
• Profile content. A display name, interests you select, and an optional profile photo you upload.
• Trip inputs. The preferences you enter to generate an itinerary (travelers, dates, expectations, destinations).
• Purchases. Records of subscriptions and token purchases, processed by Apple and our purchases provider (RevenueCat). We never see your card details.
• Token balance. A count of in-app tokens associated with your account.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use information

• To create and manage your account and profile.
• To generate travel itineraries (your trip inputs are sent to our AI provider to produce the plan).
• To process purchases, grant Pro access, and maintain your token balance.
• To provide support and keep the App secure and working.

Third parties

We share only what is needed with providers who process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (backend).
• RevenueCat and Apple — subscription and in-app purchase processing.
• OpenAI — generating itineraries from your trip inputs.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention & deletion

We keep account data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at sylusabel1@gmail.com; we will delete it except where we must retain records for legal or financial reasons.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us at sylusabel1@gmail.com to exercise them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
